So I downloaded openpctv and finally got it compiled. looks good, runs linux 3.0.25 on a pretty much unmodified kernel (at least in the /drivers/media folder)
Looking at specs online it should be able to hardware decode mpeg2 and mpeg4, I cant find anything about 4:2:2 but its easy to test, and it is a quad core, maybe it could do lower bitrate 4:2:2 in software, not much low bitrate 4:2:2 though these days.
Its got gigabit ethernet too so streaming (pretty much how I use dvb exclusively) should be fine too.
It should be here after christmas so I'll write a review up when it arrives.
If anyone else needs a hand getting openpctv compiled just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Some things I couldnt get compiled so in an effort to expedite things, I just didnt compile them lol
