Does a faster PC mean faster blindscans?

Hello All,

Forgive me if this has been asked & answered before - I did search and couldn't find anything close.

I currently use a Prof 7500 with an 8 yr old PC (Asus P5B, Q6600 CPU (dual core 2.4 ghz) 4 GB RAM & Win XP-home) which is dedicated to feed hunting (ie. no other software on this PC, just sat programs).

For scanning software I use, and absolutely LOVE, Easy Blindscan Pro.  When I scan a sat using the ranges: 11700 to 12200,  H & V, SR 100 to 70000, and 5 mhz steps it takes an average of 8 minutes to complete a scan.

Is this scan time based on the PC's horsepower, the Prof 7500 or a combination of both?

In other words, if I upgrade my PC to a screamer that NASA would be envious of will my blindscan times decrease?

If upgrading the PC won't shorten scan times do I have any other options?  Software "adjustments"? A different card or USB receiver that scans faster?

Thanks in advance.
