Two days ago, I was using my SW-1, and all was well. Switched coax to a different dish, and TSREADER went blink and was gone. Tried to restart, and it said that it couldn't enable the tuner and later gave a source failed to start error too.
I tried in a different computer, and the same thing happened. I tried in a computer where it is installed as a BDM device for use with SmartDVB. With SmartDVB, it doesn't give the error, but it won't tune any transponders.
I went to another computer where it was never installed, and installed the WDM drivers. It seemed to recognize that the SW was there, and when I started TSREADER, it didn't give me the error message. However, as soon as I tried to tune a transponder, then TSREADER bombed, and when I tried again to start TSREADER, it gave me the errors mentioned above.
I checked the voltage at the coax when USB connecter not connected to computer. Read zero. I then took the thing downstairs, and plugged the USB cable into the computer, and the voltage at the coax read 13V. I selected a horizontal channel via SmartDVB, but it still read 13V, so SmartDVB wasn't controlling the polarity. Unpugged the USB and the SW-1, plugged the SW back in, and it read zero. Plugged in the USB cable, but this time it read zero, so it must be random. I did notice though that yesterday, when I'd try to scan a transponder with SmartDVB, that it instantly came back with "no signal". Today, it thinks for a minute or so, then says that it couldn't find PAT/PMT info. However, the S/Q indicated is only 3%. So it doesn't seem to be getting any signal.
Anyway, since reloading the drivers didn't help, I was thinking about re-loading the firmware, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to risk that if it wasn't functional. I'm also not sure what firmware version I have in there, and I'm not sure how to find out. I think that I upgraded the firmware back when they came out with the capability of doing the 5/6 FEC on turbo transponders. I THINK that is version 2.13.x from 2010, but I'm not sure. The Genpix page mentions some newer firmware, ie a 2.14 and a 2.16, but neither is available on the web page. It's not too clear on the web page what version firmware is compatable with what drivers and hardware too, so I'm a bit confused.
I have already ordered a replacement SW-1, but I would really like to get this one going again, even if it only works in slaved mode, but if the tuner won't work, I guess that's getting unlikely. I guess reloading the firmware is the only hope at this point, unless someone has some ideas. Most of my tests have been done with the WDM driver with nothing connected to the coax.
When my new one comes, it's supposed to come loaded with the 2.16.x, and the web page mentions that it has spectrum scan capabilities if the BDA driver is used. I'm curious whether this means that it will now work with Crazyscan?
