TBS6922 – Install Ideas Needed

First off, thanks go to Rick for the speedy service on getting it here.

Now to figure out how to get the kinks out of the system.

I received a TBS6922 card from Rick last Thursday 7-25 and set it aside till Saturday

just in case I ran into a snag getting it going. Well the snag happened and here is what

I can not figure out. When trying to play any signal, low SR or high SR it displays

video that looks like I’m using a older 4:2:0 STB trying to play a 4:2:2 signal. The

video looks like slow scan TV when it displays anything at all, audio is very unstable

also, pops and chirps. It is almost like a very weak signal symptom but that is not it.

Yesterday, Sunday, I put the Win XP Pro 32Bit drive back in the box and booted up.

I installed drivers for the TBS6922 did the reboot and started up DVB Viewer and to

my surprise it worked great. I tuned around and all seemed fine ? Other tuners worked

(Twinhan & TT 3200) as I hoped they would, all was good.

So the question I have is, is there a trick to setting up a TBS card on XP 64Bit ?

Both setup’s are pretty much the same with the exception of the 64Bit system

having a few more codec’s there to use. I would like to keep using 64Bit sys.

I did try removing other cards just to see if it may be that the TBS card don’t

play well with other tuners in the 64Bit Sys. and that was not it. I did try some

codec changes but no luck there ether. I did try other PCIe socket but no change.

I ran low on ideas and I spent some time floating around the forums looking

to see if this has stumped anyone else and I did not find a answer / fix that worked

for what is happing. So here I am, stumped. I really don’t want to go back to 32Bit

and stepping up to 7 or 8 is not in the budget, so she says.

Another question, is there a place to get older/different drivers to try?

Some System Info:

Motherboard - ASUS M2N-E

AMD 3.2G Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+ Black Ed.

Memory - 4G

Video Card - nVidia GeForce 8800GT

TT-budget S2-3200

Twinhan 1020A

Yep it’s some old stuff, but it is stable and has served me well for years.

The 6400+ runs a bit warm on summer days but is a good space heater in winter.

Any ideas, tips and pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
