I just finished building a new computer. I've had a linkbox 8000 for some time, but now I want to be able to receive more. My goal is to receive 4:2:2, Music choice and also receive more radio channels. I've decided to buy the TBS 5927 from Rick. My new PC has a I9-9900 CPU with a Gigabyte 1660 Ti graphics card and a MSI Z390 MB. Since I'm new to computer satellite receivers, I have a few questions for the experienced members.
First, as far as software, I was going to try Easy Blind scan first and see how well it works. Do I need LAV filters for this or is that just for DVBViewer? Any other suggestions on software?
I have read in the forum that you can use EBS with VLC to play the video. Has anyone ever tried to use it with Cyberlink media suite? Cyberlink media suite is on my PC currently. It came with the optical drive that I installed.
What are some good codecs for 4:2:2? I've read in the forum that VLC has most of the codecs for 4:2:2, so would I even need any other codec with VLC?
Last question, Have you used MediaPortal as an interface? If so, what is your opinion of it?
Thanks very much for your help.
