Hi ..
I'm a very curious DXer from satellites dot co dot uk ..and have recently had a DirecTV SL3 lnbf shipped from the US to experiment with in ka bands.
Ka is slowly taking off in Europe and in light of the lack of suitable hardware ..any hardware will be repurposed if possible.
Am I right in assuming all 4 F connectors can be used in the same way ..ie for multiroom use ..thus they are not specific outputs from the three combined LNBs ?
That being so ..I'm assuming the internal switching between KA low band ..KU and KA Hi band is done by sending specific commands modulated on a 22khz carrier to any one of the 4 F connector inputs ?
Next question ..
Can my TBS 6925 send these commands ..if so ..how ..
Which software ..Crazyscan etc ?
Next question ..what are the commands ...? ...are they known ?
No you use linear polarisation or are all 3 lnbs geared for circular ?
If so is this LHCP or RHCP ...or is this switchable ...and again ..how is this done.
Over here we use 13/18v switching ...do you use a different method ?
Obviously I'm not interested in DirecTV as this is specific to the US ...and I'm just a curious UK dxer..
I have also ordered a B band IF convertor ...but this hasn't yet arrived ..
In the meantime ..I have mounted the SL3 on my Gibby 1.2m dish ..and would like to at least switch between the integrated 3 lnbs ..
So would anyone be kind enough to help ?
Very little is known about the inner workings of direcTV lnbs over this side of the pond...but presumably you guys have experimented some..
Any info you can share will help.
regards
