Skipping audio, windows 10 64 bit setup thru HDMI port

Didn't know where to list this, but the ex gaming computer I use works absolutely sensational EXCEPT for skipping audio which I've never experienced in Windows 7.  I play the unit's sound through a Denon A/V receiver. No quick (check or uncheck this setting) fixes it.

Other than that this unit will effortlessly play any video I throw at it.  It doesn't even wince at HEVC, 422, or anything else.  But this audio problem is more than annoying.  I've tried AMD radeon cards, Nvidia cards to no avail.  It sometimes will dissipate for a while, but always returns.  Usually two skips within a couple seconds, then single skips, every minute or so.

I play the same stuff on an older computer with a new (to me) FX8350 AMD processor with no problems audio wise, but Video suffers on complex signals.  This unit is running Windows 7.

The stuttering on this Windows 10 computer happens on any and all programs when HDMI is selected.  My front cheapie TV speakers play fine when I switch to them in the Nvidia control panel.

Hence, I'm going to try some older drivers on the Nvidia card which is being used.  I'm thinking it's something the Nvidia driver and the Denon unit won't see eye to eye. I'm going to have to clone a backup SSD (which this OS is on) because I've lost HDMI connectivity on my computers in the past when making changes and afterwards re-installs, etc would not fix it.

Just putting this out to see if anyone has experienced this and may have a solution.

Thanks
