What with more 4:2:2 video, 16APSK, etc., I am using my vintage Dell laptop with a USB tuner to watch these channels. Even with the help MadVR provides, most of the 4:2:2 video streams are too "fast" for the video chipset and I see frames being dropped or other artifacts/glitches on the screen, all due to video hardware not being able to keep up with the stream.
I'd like to start shopping for another laptop but don't know what to look for to get me the fastest video stream processing? Should I shop for:
1. Gaming laptop?
2. Laptop with a particular video chipset?
3. Other criteria?
Please advise how I can be assured that I'll have a laptop with excellent video stream processing ability?
Thank you,
Dick Rempfer
