Any Hardware accelerated DVBS USB cards?

Any Hardware accelerated DVBS USB cards? I want to buy one such card but I am not able to find much information regarding this. I use Prof tuner 7301 but its blind scanning is slow. Without Crazycat's streamreader even that won't have been possible. Thanks to him.

Presently I can find only TBS 5520SE below 100$ mark. How good it is in blind scan speed and what about its supported maximum bit rate? Is it like 120mbits or 90mbits?

When I bought my first AZBox ME I bought what at the time I thought was an appropriate choice, a 2TB Western Digital video and surveillance GreenPower AV-GP model WD20EURS with 3 year warranty, manufactured 17 July 2012. That purchase was 61 months ago. During a "routine" backup of it to a 2TB Seagate last month it generated read errors on at least 5 videos. I installed the backup in its place, then spent several days running smartctl and other testing and diagnostics apps on it, concluding it had become junk. It's anyone's guess how long ago the trouble started. With any luck it will have been the cause of one or more ME foibles which would be gone with its replacement.

Because I do backups, even though not on a regular basis, I lost zero recordings.

Its replacement today is a WD Purple WD20PURX, 25% more expensive than current WD Green models, the only 2TB I could find actually available online specifically suited to A/V use. If memory serves, it's only the 5th WD I've ever bought. I never would buy WD until after Quantum (my original first HD brand choice), IBM (my superceding first choice following Quantum's market exit) and Maxtor disappeared from the HD market, leaving HD brand choices severely limited compared to two decades ago. I would have preferred to have bought Seagate or HGST. Hopefully the Purple won't be as short lived as its Green predecessor.

Uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.Anyone ran across this with a 64 bit system?

Thanks in advance.

NovelSat PCI Card for NS3/4 DVBS2/S2X

New from NovelSat, the PCIe-based NovelSat NS10C Satellite Modulator and NS20C Satellite Demodulator cards make it easy to integrate NovelSat’s world leading bandwidth efficiency and features into any PC-based broadcast application. Designed to meet the demands of any broadcast application, the NS10C and NS20C support all satellite transmission standards, including DVB-S/S2/S2X, DVB-CID and NovelSat NS4, as well as the NovelSat DRM (Digital Rights Management) license.

The NS10C and NS20C PCIe OEM cards are designed for easy integration into any PC-based satellite broadcast platform for Cable, DTH and OTT live delivery of SD, HD and Ultra HD content. They are ideal for both terrestrial and space-side OEM satellite broadcast applications including mobile flyaways and SNGs.

The space saving PCIe form factor helps to reduce power consumption and maintenance – important when going mobile with SNGs and flyaways. The NS10C and NS20C enable broadcasters to build all-in-one distribution solutions by integrating a modulator into an encoder, convert a decoder into an IRD by adding a demodulator, enhance transcoders, multiplexers, statmuxes, packagers and origin servers.

In addition, the NS10C and NS20C add versatility to every mobile satellite operator (SNG, Flyaway etc.) who can now support, on-the-fly, any satellite transmission standard (DVB-S/S2/S2X and NS4) used by varied broadcasters.

When equipped with the optional NovelSat NS4 waveform, the NS10C/NS20C cards support high data rates of up to 425Mbps using 80Msps, enabling transmission of a single carrier over an entire 84MHz transponder. NovelSat NS4 delivers satellite bandwidth savings of up to 45% compared with DVB-S2 and 21% vs. DVB-S2X. The NS20C also packs groundbreaking signal processing methods such as an adaptive equalizer and error correction techniques that enable the receiver to be more resilient to impairments.

last saturday I attempted to watch the Baylor/Ok st. game in 4K... It scaned in but the picture came and went with intermittent sound.. I'm sure it's a filter setting. If anyone watched that feed on the PC, can you share the filter settings including the renderer used?  Thanx

Sharing DVB tuner card from Windows to Linux?!

Hi All,

I finally made the jump to C-band and got an 8ft dish from Tek2000 8ft. For yeahs, I've done my KU stuff using EBSPro and TSReader. That software combo is great for blindscan... but seeing how C-band offers more fixed channels, I'd like to get these into my tvheadend server, which already handles my OTA channels.

I was wondering if it'd be possible to write a Windows application that would expose my TBS6925 card to Linux via vtuner. I'm thinking or hoping that using CrazyCat's StreamReaderEx library, I could expose whatever functionality that  vtuner requires. A nice little tray app that you could enable/disable at the click of a button... making it easy to go form EBSPro/TSReader blindscan fun to tvheaden channel surfing.

Form what I've seen though, it would appear that vtuner hasn't been touched in over 2 years (unless I'm looking at the wrong code repo).

I might create a VM running Ubuntu 14.04 and install vtuner on it to see if I can get it to talk to a dummy app on Windows.

But before venturing too far down that path, I figured I'd check with the other coders on the forum for their thoughts.

Cheers,

V

Is your dvb tuner usb by chance? many people get started on linux with a Raspberry Pi, they are cheap and use Linux. its very risk free, if you complely mess something up, you just pull the micro sd card and rewrite it.

Majortom and I have built images so that all you have to do is set up your devices in the updateDVB Settings. It has all programs installed in it that we use here in the forum. Including the capability of controling your lnb servo if you have one.

We are on the verge of releasing a new image just as soon as UDL does his final tweaks on his new updateDVB so it will be in the image.

Some shots in our new raspberry pi 2/3 image using UDL's updateDVB. Here I am using my atsc tuner.

I was able to install Lubuntu on my very old but yet reliable Dell Inspiron 710m and want to see if I will be able to load updateDVB.

attn: DarkSky

Thanks for the info on the Raspberry pi 2/3 image . Where can I download such image from and what size SD card will be adequate to use the image and have enough space to use.

I just purchased a Raspberry 3 from Micro center and I can believe how compact and nice this device is. So would like to try the image to get it up and running.

Thank you in advance guys.

TBS-5927 won't install in Win-7

Recently got a new 5927 to replace my broken 6925 and 6983.  The new 5927 works fine in my Win-XP computer, but in Win-7 I get that error about Windows not recognizing the certification signature or something.
I have read about that issue with Win-8 and Win-10, but never had that problem with Win-7 before.
There were two drivers on the TBS site, one for Win-10, and another one that didn't say what it was for.  Since I don't have Win-10, I was trying to install the 2nd one.
Did I install the wrong driver, or is there something similar to the Crazycat Prof certification script that needs to be run with this receiver. I see other people using this receiver with Win-7, so I assume there must be a workaround.
thanks

TBS 5927 USB Missing Packets

I HAD a PROF 7000 PCI but had a lightning incident.

With concern over having coax from outside going to my PC I opted for the USB - but knowing the USB is slower then and internal bus, but still way fast enough to support a TP stream, I got the external 5927.

NOW, I can not receive the AMC-21 12180 MHz TP (Bandwidth is about 67 Mbps) without significantly large numbers of missing packets.

The SNR is 16 or greater, BER is 0.000000 yet all the HD video falls apart due to missing packets.

Is there a USB or DirectShow configuration I need to visit?

Any Ideas?

Thanks!!!
