StreamReader quit working with my TBS 6903

I use DVBDream and was able to use Stream Reader to blindscan. Suddenly When I choose SreamReader It says cannot initialize hardware error code 1. Any Ideas? Running Win10 Pro 64 bit. Have reinstalled drivers and DVB Dream with no success. Also Smart DVB will no longer pick up APSK16 signals, while EBS pro still locks them all. Any ideas?

Hello, I have prof7500 USB, and I can't use SmartDVB with disecq 1.1 multiswitch. Other players work well. I tried latesr streamreader, Prof7500_Driver_2.0.0.7_W64_fixed, CrazyBDA driver but still the same result. Is there a patched BDA.dev for prof7500? Thanks..

SmartDVB install on Win 10

I have decided after reading 7 years of forum information about smartDVB to give it a try on a new TBS-6902 satellite card.  I was able to fumble my way through the install and scan in C-Band channels on Galaxy 19 at 97W.  I am using a DSR-922 to position the dish and slaving the 6902 off of another receiver so I would not need any switching or positioning on the first go-around.  I tried some channels and they worked, but I received "Error adding Decode file" on the Azteca channels.  After some review and searching I found that the LAVfilters needed to be installed if you are running Win 10.  This fixed me up and I was able to receive Azteca and the CBS feeds without problems after using the LAVfilters for decoding.  Now my question is, what other programs/applications/drivers/filters etc do I need to download and install to have a complete installation when using smartDVB?

Thanks,

Jim

TBS 6991SE no longer works under Ubuntu Server 16.04 & Tvheadend 4.2

I've been using a TBS 6991SE card under Ubuntu Server 14.04 and Tvheadend 4.0 and it's been working fine for receiving free to air signals.  Upgraded to Ubuntu Server 16.04 and Tvheadend 4.2 and the same card with the same settings gives nothing but continuity counter errors.  A couple other TBS cards still work fine.  One possible difference is that the 6991SE has a CA card slot which is not used in the western hemisphere, and Tvheadend 4.2 actually sees that it has a card slot whereas 4.0 apparently did not have any built in support for such a slot.  The cards that continue to work great do NOT have CA card slots.  After the upgrade the 6991SE card gives nothing but continuity counter errors. I tested both the standard TBS drivers and the open source ones (from https://github.com/tbsdtv/linux_media/wiki), it made no difference.  I installed Tvheadend 4.2 using the instructions at https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/AptRepository#Usage if that makes any difference; I am not generally well enough versed in Linux to go compiling things from scratch and actually have them work (it's a minor miracle that I get the TBS drivers to compile).

Just a word of warning to anyone who has a 6991SE card or possibly a similar one with a CA slot.  I don't know if they will work if you actually have a CA card connected but without one, mine doesn't.  If anyone would like to hazard a guess why it won't work following the upgrade, please feel free, I'm all ears!

TBS6903 problems revisited

Hello. I am reposting this because my problems stopped for awhile and everything was fine with my 6903, but now it has gone back to it's original problems. Main problem. using any blindscan from TBS's own to CrazyCat, EBSPro, SmartDvb and DVBDream it will only scan one polarity and double up the transponders example 3820 will come in twice once as vertical and once as horizontal. I will not Horizontal even if I tell it to, still scans vertical and calls them horizontal. Also tuners are pretty much deaf. A signal booming on any of my other 4 recievers will not lock on the 6903. I bought this card back in Feb of 2017 when Rick did not have them from Amazon via UTA shops. They are giving mw a run around with it. Did a teamviewer session a couple of weeks ago with them and a manual tune with a booming transponder like the muxes on 101 c-band would tune. Took him to a nascar feed on 101 and both my Micro HD and my FreesatV8 were locked with 94 signal and 84 quality. He quickly changed to lets check your blindscan. So he ran TBS blindscan and it only scanned vertical transponders. At that point he said he had to go. Now they want to do another team viewer session and check again. What would you do? My equipment is a 12 foot unimesh dialed in, a modded WNC 4x8 multiswitch and a pair of brand new Norsat 5150 on a ortho feed. And before you ask, I have switched cables with the working recievers and tried both tuners on the 6903. Computer is a AMD running stock at 3.8 with 16 gigs of 2133 memory and a GTX 1060 video card running Win 10 64. Same results running Win 7 64 bit.

4120V@97W ME and HD+ recordings crash PC players VLC and SMplayer

Copied from CBS Network is now MPEG4, where follow-up would continue off-topic:
Quote:
I have 2 MEs, one using 3.9.2 which has EXT3 disk and is normally used, the other with EXT3 disk using 3.3.1 used occasionally for tough scanning, mostly just as spare and a place to keep a backup HD. I tested with OpenRSI 3.0 enigma 2013-01-02 last upgrade 2015-06-26. 4100H@97W records on it, and Linux VLC 2.2.6 plays it nicely after selecting the #2 audio track. CWD (4120V@97W) both records and plays back with it, but attempting to play the only CWD recording I made as yet with the ME crashes VLC 2.2.6 instantly. HD+ recordings from CWD also crash VLC, but the HD+ plays them.

I tested CWD recordings also in Linux SMplayer-16.7.0-4.1. It only plays the audio. MPV-0.25.0-15.2 does play video and audio OK. When I find a spare round tuit I'll try a different PC with newer VLC and SMplayer versions.

I know the shop went offline some time ago but I've just found that the website is no more so now would be a good time to back up any drivers you have. Compared to some of the more recent cards the Profs lack a few bells and whistles but I've never felt like I was missing too much and they always represented good value for money. They were my first real step into feed hunting so it's a little sad to know they've gone.

TBS-5927 won't install in Win-7

Recently got a new 5927 to replace my broken 6925 and 6983.  The new 5927 works fine in my Win-XP computer, but in Win-7 I get that error about Windows not recognizing the certification signature or something.
I have read about that issue with Win-8 and Win-10, but never had that problem with Win-7 before.
There were two drivers on the TBS site, one for Win-10, and another one that didn't say what it was for.  Since I don't have Win-10, I was trying to install the 2nd one.
Did I install the wrong driver, or is there something similar to the Crazycat Prof certification script that needs to be run with this receiver. I see other people using this receiver with Win-7, so I assume there must be a workaround.
thanks

TBS 5927 USB Missing Packets

I HAD a PROF 7000 PCI but had a lightning incident.

With concern over having coax from outside going to my PC I opted for the USB - but knowing the USB is slower then and internal bus, but still way fast enough to support a TP stream, I got the external 5927.

NOW, I can not receive the AMC-21 12180 MHz TP (Bandwidth is about 67 Mbps) without significantly large numbers of missing packets.

The SNR is 16 or greater, BER is 0.000000 yet all the HD video falls apart due to missing packets.

Is there a USB or DirectShow configuration I need to visit?

Any Ideas?

Thanks!!!
