TSReader Proxy source input module question

$

I have used Crazycat's  Stream Reader Ex- proxy source for TBS tuners with TSR and it works well. However, I noticed that for it to tune properly you have to enter the LNB  local oscillator frequency or you get a failed to tune error and the log reads invalid LNB frequency. I am wondering if there is a way, or add a line to the streamreader ini file so the L band frequency can be entered directly? (LNB=0) I often set the TSR LNB to zero and enter L band for both C and Ku.

Arduino + skystar

Hello all, I sometimes need to realign my dish or some friend's dish and I always need to carry a tuner and a monitor on the roof.
I don't need it as often to buy a satellite pointing equipment so this is the idea:
I have an unused skystar usb device and I was wondering if it's possible to make a little arduino sketch that simply set the tuner to a given frequency and display strenght and quality on a 16x2 lcd.

No problem for the display part...the hard part is to interface arduino and usb skystar.
Maybe someone have a good idea?

Of course if arduino and skystar could interact it would be possible to send also disecq command, motor command and so on...but this could be the rest of the story.

Massimo.

TBS6903 troubles

I tried tuning the NASA mux on 127W after installing my new GTX 1060 to check out the UHD channel. The 6903 will not get a whiff of the mux.Four other STB's in the house get this mux with quality in the 80's and no breakups. Using DVBDream no lock, EBSpro won't get a whiff of it either but all other transponders are showing SNR's from13.5 to 17Db. I have played with the frequency and SR but no luck.I am running Win7 Pro 64bit.

TBS6903 And UHD Issues

For some reason I can't figure out why my TBS6903 is now freezing, breaking up and maxing out the CPU (Up to 97%) and then sometimes crashing the PC when I tune to any of the UHD 4K channels on 101.°W and 103.0°W. Did anything change on the muxes? I never had any issues like this before. It doesn't matter which DVB Software I use. I have changed card slots for both TBS6903 and my GeForce 950, NVIDIA card and no success. It should be noted that none UHD channels play fine without issues.

My PC configurations are outlined below:

Processor: AMD FX(tm) 8120-Core Processor 3.10GHz
Memory: 32 GB
Video Display Card:  NVIDIA GEForce GTC 950
System Type: Windows 10 Pro. 64-bit

EBSPro SmartUpdater Generates Large Log File

$

I"m using the latest Free version of EBSPro 16.0.0.1. Today, I noticed a high CPU activity of my PC, and when I looked at "Task Manager" I noticed the EBSPro SmartUpdater was using 18% of the CPU. It should be noted that EBSPro was not even being used or launched when this was happening. Later, I discovered that SmartUpdater created a very large log file (SmartUpdater.log) almost 38GB in size. Is this normal? If I hadn't caught this on-time this would have filled up my SSD disk drive! Any input as how to prevent this happening in the future will be highly appreciated.

Then also, has anyone tried this yet I'm using Chinese Bobs Blindscan-s2 from here.
https://github.com/amcsorley/blindscan-s2

I'm blindscaning 11700 - 12200 hor steps of 5 (with universal lnb) on SES3 ku
For some reason I have to enter 4 extra zeros to the search range
 ~$ blindscan-s2 -b -l 10600 -2 -s 117000000 -e 122000000 -H -t 5
And it doesn't find anything
then..
If i enter ~$ blindscan-s2 -b -l 10600 -2 -s 11700 -e 12200 -H -t 5
I get "cx88-mpeg driver manager... out of range"

Add "custom" satellite in SichboPVR?

$

First of all, Hi

I'm a 30 year old tech enthusiast and sysadmin which basically had big dreams about using Tvheadend together with Kodi and got frustrated that my Terratec S7 (Rev.4) didn't seem to work in Ubuntu so I think I might have taken on a bit more then I can solve but lets see

Anyway my initial goal as I said earlier was to use my Terratec S7 (Rev.4) with Tvheadend on Ubuntu (16.04). Ubuntu does not seem to identify my receiver so I was thinking about capturing traffic via "USBPCAP" and see if I could modify a patch for Linux-TV / Linux-Media which allows support for the Rev. 3-version.

However using SichboPVR it successfully identify my card but "my" satellite is not in the list. Is it possible to add a "custom" satellite and therefore be able to use "USBPCAP" to record traffic from the receiver?

"My" satellite which I should use is this (the info I got from my DVB-C topset and my providers homepage):

Astra 4A (Sirius) 4.8°E.

LNB-type: SatCR

Input 1: UB 4=2040

Modulation: DVB-S QPSK

Frequency: 12.054GHz

Polarization: Vertical

Symbolspeed: 27500 Ksymb/s

FEC: 3/4

Now I don't know if there are any information missing and the titles above are translated from Swedish to English by me so it might not be the exact "lingo" you usually hear or see

Anyway, would love to get some pointers and help and hopefully if I get everything working the Terratec S7 Rev.4 will be supported on Ubuntu in the near future

Best Regards - Karl, Sweden

"RF Scan" shows all Transponders but get no Lock on DVB-S Transponders
with "BLS2 Mode" all Transponders where found (DVB-S and DVB-S2)

also make a "clean install "with V 16.0.0.1 and 16.0.0.2 but same problem

EBSpro V.16.0.0.0 is all OK

Howto debug locking failures on stv090x/stv0910 v4l driver?

$

Hi,

I'm wondering if there is any way to trace down locking errors on that driver modules.
There are two muxes on Hispasat 30°W on 11491 V (CLM) and 11496 H (TVA) that use physical layer scrambling (PLS). When entering the right PLS code I can lock both on windows using crazyscan.
However on linux using the tbsdtv tree or crazycats linux_media tree I can lock CLM but TVA fails with the same HW. I tried both TBS 5980 (stv090x driver) and TBS 6903 (stv0910 driver) and the behavior between is exactly the same.
The muxes use similar parameters, 8psk, fec 8/9 only difference is the symbolrate and CLM has pilots off while TVA has pilots on.

So how can I trace / debug the locking procedure?

TBS 6220 sometimes not initializing. source of the problem: driver/mainboard/card/.. ?

Hello everybody,

Almost 4 years ago I decided to buy a TBS 6220 since this was the only card that was compatible to CrazyScan 2 and able to be used for DVB-C by installing the combined driver in Windows. I was always wondering why this card sometimes was listed up in the device manager (at that time in Windows 8.1 and nowadays in Windows 10) and sometimes not.

After rebooting once or twice the OS the TBS 6220 appeared in the device manager. So did my TBS 6925 which I have sold in the meantime and the new owner (I had informed him about this before selling) has not complained of having such problems. I am using a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H mainboard which was brandnew as well when I purchased these cards. Unfortunately I have never found out what the source of this problem was. Bad windows drivers of TBS, my mainboard (drivers) or what ever else. If I had an other mainboard with PCI-E slots I would have tried to exclude at least the mainboard.

The TBS 6220 is never listed up in device manager after waking up Windows 10 from Standby as well.

Therefore I am using now an Edision OPTI-Combo DVB-C/T2 USB stick which works very well and locks much faster when chaning the frequency.

It's a pity I cannot rely on the TBS 6220 under Windows.

Have you got any ideas what I could test to find out what the cause of this misbehaviour is ?

Does anyone own this card here ?
I would like to hear if these problems are driver based or not.
Maybe some of you are using it under Linux (as well) and the driver there is better ?

I would like so much to build up a VDR using the TBS 6220 for DVB-C but this makes only sense if the OS is always initializing it.

Thank you very much for reading in advance.
Best regards.

Prof Tuners 7500 USB is getting very hot.

Hi dear friends,

Prof Tuners 7500 USB is getting very hot, during the blindscan.

and sometimes it does not do blind scanning, scanning is progressing quickly.

To overcome this, I have to "unplug and plug" the adapter's socket. It works like this. But it's still hot.

Is there anyone who has experienced the same problem ? And do have any suggestions on the solution ?

Is there any modification inside TV card that requires strengthening ? ( Inside like a piece change, radical measure. )

Adapter ; original Prof 7500 adapter and 7.5 volt, 2 amper.

I bought the tv card in its new and original packaging.

Thanks.

TBS cards information

It seems Rick has the TBS 6903 and the TBS 6922 tuners.  The 6903 says it supports 16APSK while the 6922 does not.  I looked on the TBS site and they have a TBS 6902 that says it can support 16/32APSK.  I want a card for CBS 4.2.2 MPEG4 decoding, but I thought if I am replacing my AZBoxME, I should get a card that will support 16APSK too.  Not sure I need a pro model at more than twice the price of the 6902.  Can someone confirm that the TBS 6902 will receive 16APSK?  Other thoughts?

Jim
